INTRODUCTION:
Career Development begins from a person’s early years of his academics. It is typically not associated to young people only, but every person goes through the process of career development and management throughout his lifetime, then either he be in a single career or multiple careers to recognize his capabilities towards any field of his interest. Career development enables you to realize your potentials, your interests in any field in terms of adopting it as a career and develop a relation between your learning and success of your coming life. Career counseling can be a great help especially for young students to choose their careers keeping in view their interests, values, passions and skills that would also help them to decide and plan their careers more accurately.
GOALS OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROCESS:
Career Development is basically centered on some goals which includes:

STAGES OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT:
To choose an accurate career, you must do appropriate career management to ensure your complete satisfaction for your chosen career. For this purpose, you are suggested to ponder over these stages to successfully navigate over your process of career development.
Following are the stages of Career Development process, which you need to keep in mind.
FIRST STAGE:
First stage of Career Development is ASSESSMENT STAGE which makes you prepared for what things are out there for you. Yet you do not know of what opportunities are being waiting for you there. Moreover, at this stage, you have not realized your talents, strengths and weaknesses. You are more inquisitive about where you stand and what mainly can you do.
SECOND STAGE:
Second stage of Career development is INVESTIGATION STAGE. At this point you start exploring about what are the fields of careers in this world. You also get confused in different suggestions and find it difficult to know what you can do actually. As you begin with your research about the ongoing works in the world, you might get stunned finding several different existing jobs and opportunities.
THIRD STAGE:
Third stage of Career development is PREPARATION STAGE. Since you have thought of any particular career for you, now you start preparing yourself for a life’s work that you have to do. You feel enthusiastic about carrying out any meaningful work in your life. But apart from this, there are still many things that you might have to do for which you makes yourself ready now.
FOURTH STAGE:
Fourth stage of Career Development is COMMITMENT STAGE. You have already made your mind about what you are going to do as your career. You have to set some goals for how to carry out your work and embrace a proper, success-oriented mind-set. Now you not only know what you are going to do, but also you are committed to your work. Here, many other people will try to distract you or your intentions but you need to be fully focused on your work to make up your career.
FIFTH STAGE:
Fifth stage of Career Development is RETENTION STAGE where you find yourself in a comfort zone of your career life because now you confident regarding your chosen career field and you know what way of carrying out a particular job will fit in the industry. You need to make yourself up-to-date with the industry standards and needs for staying committed to your job and updating your career skills on regular basis.
SIXTH STAGE:
Sixth stage of Career Development is TRANSITION STAGE. Here you undergo some feelings of discomfort and unsure because now it seems to you that your career is not going in right direction which you thought of earlier. These feelings will eventually drive you into the thoughts of switching your career. At this point you need to adopt proper career-decision process to make your clear directions to your next chosen career.
To become successful in your current chosen career, you need to be conscious about your career choices and opportunities that come in your way. This overall process will continue throughout your life at any stage and at any age.
